In anticipation of the premiere of The Bachelorette, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia have revealed that season 19 will be unlike any that have come before it. Gabby and Rachel befriended one another on The Bachelor season 26, where they both vied for the heart of Missouri native Clayton Echard. While both Gabby and Rachel made it to the final three, Clayton ultimately chose Susie Evans and the two began a relationship post filming.
Gabby and Rachel’s friendship reached a new level during the final rose ceremony of the season, when Clayton told both women that he loved them and had been intimate with them both. In an emotional moment, the girls embraced and supported one another, which fans truly admired. During The Bachelor finale, both Gabby and Rachel were announced as the next leads of The Bachelorette, to the delight of Bachelor Nation. Their season makes franchise history, being the first time in which the show will have two female leads side by side for the entire time.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Gabby and Rachel revealed that season 19 would be unlike anything Bachelor Nation fans have seen before. When asked how the process would work, knowing that both girls are leads, Gabby explained that they would start out dating the same group of men and that the story would “tell itself.” Rachel added that viewers can expect numerous twists and turns throughout the season, emphasizing that it would be something truly new for Bachelor Nation.
Additionally, Bachelorettes Gabby and Rachel also confirmed that many things would stay the same, such as rose ceremonies and dates each week. While many fans worried that the structure of the season had the potential to pit the two women against one another, they assured fans that this was not the case and that they are still best friends. Previous trailers have confirmed that the women will greet each suitor together on night one, and it has also been speculated that each woman will still have the chance to go on four hometown dates, resulting in double the fun.
While many Bachelor Nation fans are excited for the upcoming season, it has had its critics as well. The Bachelorette alum Andi Dorfman even admitted that she believed having two leads was sexist. However, Gabby and Rachel have made it very clear that they are both grateful to have been by each others side as they navigated their journeys. Fans still have many questions on how the season will play out, which will be answered very soon when The Bachelorette season 19 premieres July 11.
